The Problem

More Than Tired.
And Tired of Not Being Believed.

Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a serious, long-term illness. The CDC estimates it affects somewhere between 836,000 and 3.3 million Americans, and most of them have never been diagnosed.

It isn’t ordinary tiredness. It’s exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. It’s the crash that hits a day after you do a little too much. It’s brain fog, unrefreshing sleep, aches, dizziness when you stand, and the slow loss of work, friendships, and the person you used to be. Too many people hear “your labs are normal” and walk out with nothing.

“Before The Bridge I was taking several medications daily. I hardly left my house and was sleeping most days away. After The Bridge, my life completely changed.”
— Stephanie B., Bridge guest
Common Symptoms

What ME/CFS
Often Looks Like

Post-Exertional Malaise — A crash in energy and symptoms after physical, mental, or emotional effort, often delayed by a day or more.
Unrefreshing Sleep — Waking up as exhausted as when you went to bed, no matter how long you slept.
Brain Fog — Trouble with memory, focus, word-finding, and processing information.
Orthostatic Intolerance — Dizziness, lightheadedness, or a racing heart when standing or sitting upright.
Pain & Aches — Muscle and joint pain and headaches that often overlap with fibromyalgia.
Mood & Stress — Anxiety, grief, and depression that come from living with a long, invisible illness.
Our Approach

Why a 21-Day
Whole-Person Program?

ME/CFS touches your energy, sleep, nervous system, pain, and mood all at once. Short appointments spread across different specialists rarely connect those pieces. At The Bridge, one team works with you every day, in a calm setting, with no job or household pulling at your limited energy.

  • Pacing first — We help you find your energy envelope and stay inside it. No push-through exercise.
  • Rest is built in — Quiet time is scheduled, not squeezed in.
  • Whole-person care — Sleep, pain, nervous system, and emotional health treated together.
  • Physician oversight — Medical review of medications, supplements, and symptoms.
  • A plan for home — You leave with routines you can actually keep.

Common Questions

Chronic Fatigue Program
FAQs

Can a retreat help with chronic fatigue syndrome?
There is no single cure for ME/CFS, and anyone promising one should be treated with caution. What a structured program can do is give you three weeks of paced, supervised care focused on symptom management: sleep, energy pacing, pain, nervous system regulation, and the depression or anxiety that often come with long-term illness. Many guests leave with a clearer plan and better tools for daily life.
Will I be pushed into exercise I can't handle?
No. We know that over-exertion can trigger post-exertional malaise (the crash after activity) in ME/CFS. Movement is optional, gentle, and paced to your energy envelope. Many parts of the program, like massage, acupuncture, warm water, and rest in nature, are passive. Rest is part of the schedule, not a failure.
Do you accept insurance?
We work with many major insurance plans and verify your benefits at no cost before you commit. Call 435-559-1922 to check your coverage.
Can I bring my medications and supplements?
Yes. Our medical team reviews everything you take during intake. We never require you to stop a medication; any change is made gradually and only under physician supervision. Bring a full 21-day supply.
What if I also have fibromyalgia, pain, or depression?
That's common. ME/CFS often overlaps with fibromyalgia, chronic pain, sleep problems, anxiety, and depression. Our whole-person approach addresses those together instead of one at a time.
What happens after the 21 days?
You leave with a written aftercare plan: a pacing and sleep routine, ongoing therapy recommendations, medication guidance if needed, and connection to support resources and our alumni community.
